Dr. Lindsey Beauboeuf, a board-certified family medicine physician and founder of Mozaïk Lifestyle Medicine, offers a culturally grounded approach to wellness for Black and Afro-Caribbean communities. Through her practice, she focuses on lifestyle-centered primary care, helping patients manage stress, practice mindful eating, and prevent chronic diseases during busy and high-calorie seasons.
A wife and mother of three, Dr. Beauboeuf also leads The Haitian Doctor, a nonprofit dedicated to culturally relevant health education for the Haitian diaspora. Her approach shows that staying healthy doesn’t mean giving up joy. From Caribbean-inspired healthy recipes to strategies for staying active and connected during family gatherings, Dr. Beauboeuf provides practical tips for maintaining wellness while honoring culture and tradition.
“I grew up in Haiti, and pursuing a career in medicine felt natural,” Dr. Beauboeuf said. “Beyond societal pressures to become a doctor, lawyer, or engineer, I witnessed the impact of health disparities firsthand. Losing my grandfather to fragmented care made me want to make a difference.”
On the topic of work-life balance, she explained, “I don’t know if a true balance exists all the time. For me, it’s more about work-life integration. Doing work I love fills my cup, but I’ve had to learn to set strict boundaries, especially in the mornings. If I don’t start my day in prayer, it’s hard to feel centered throughout the day.”
Dr. Beauboeuf also shared advice for aspiring entrepreneurs. “I feel like a newbie in this space,” she admitted, “but taking things slow, planning each move with intention, and being clear about your ‘why’ makes all the difference when scaling a business.”
