Bishop is an emerging Neo-soul artist bringing raw, authentic, and heart into today’s music landscape. Born and raised in the Bronx between Kingsbridge and Parkchester, his sound is shaped by his roots, his experiences, and a name passed down from his older sister, inspired by the movie Juice. What started as a childhood name is now an identity built on soul, authenticity, and purpose.
After singing his entire life, Bishop finally stepped into the booth this past summer, pushed by his brother and producer Hendrick Douglass. Letting go of fear became his turning point. “Once I stopped doubting myself, nothing could stop me,” he says. Now based in New York City, he’s fully committed to the journey, soul first, God always.
Bishop’s first official release, ‘All of Me,’ produced by Hendrick Douglass, gives listeners a look into one unforgettable love experience. The record blends tender vocals with heartfelt emotion, capturing the peace and purity of giving yourself fully to love. “It’s about the positive side of love,” Bishop explains. “This song is me giving all of myself to a beautiful love and keeping it close.”
Bishop’s style is deeply influenced by Maxwell, LL Cool J, and a long list of R&B and Hip-Hop icons. His goal is simple: to make music that connects. “I want my music to stick with you forever,” he says. “Soul music hits different from the words to the ad-libs to the instruments.” His dream collaborations stretch across genres, from Maxwell, Chris Brown, Brandy, and Usher to Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Cardi B, Nas, Dave East, 50 Cent, and his brother Hendrick Douglass.
Though new to the industry, Bishop’s path has already required resilience. Past failures became his motivation, a reminder to keep going even when he felt discouraged. “There were times I quit on myself,” he admits. “Now I just show up, stay consistent, and trust God through the process.” Outside of music, Bishop works on the railroad with freight trains, trains in the gym, reads, and continues to sharpen his skills as an aspiring actor. His motto sums up his foundation: “God, Family, Hustle.”
Looking ahead to 2025 and beyond, Bishop’s goals for next year are focused and intentional, with a focus on continuing to make music, performing more, and building his presence as both a musician and an actor. He also looks forward to giving back to the community once he’s in a position to do so. In five years, he sees himself on tour, acting in films, and living out the dreams he once doubted.
Bishop’s music and his lyrics in storytelling are grounded in life experiences, both his own and those around him. Bishop hints at big plans leading into 2026. Growth, elevation, and soulful evolution are all on the way. A message for his fans: “ I’m humbled by the love and support to the highest degree. Thank you for just showing love and support. Your gratitude is valued, and I’m blessed.” and he shares gratitude to his family, Hendrick, Yola, Kam, J, Jerry, and Lulu.
