In addition to being an artist, Lawrence Jacob holds several titles outside of music including husband, father, producer, writer, director, and entrepreneur. Nonetheless, this musician is passionate about all his many qualities.
Building on the foundation of R&B, Lawrence Jacob gathers distinctive sounds to fit his style of music. “I pull from different things in the culture that has personally inspired me like hip hop, soul, even pop and gospel music,” he says. Born in Detroit and currently living in Atlanta, it is no surprise that this artist resides in the mecca of good music. Referring to himself as his own inspiration, Lawrence Jacob makes certain that he is pleased with his artistry before impressing others, “My musical inspiration comes from within, it’s a must I have to do it for myself,” he quotes, “It’s fulfilling, and it makes me feel good whenever I’m doing music or just being around music. From there it sprouts wings I can grab inspiration from different situations just pulling from reality, which I do often even my own life.”
With his EP “Can I Live” available to stream, Lawrence Jacob is hoping to receive more recognition across the states. “My main goal is to capitalize on each moment and build a stronger base,” he quotes “If I’m known as Lawrence Jacob the artist in at least two more states I’m happy with it, the more credibility I gain as a real artist is great for me.” In addition to his creditability goals, Lawrence Jacob has desires outside of music that target his entrepreneurial side, such as creating his own tech company. With his wife and daughter as motivation, we have no doubt that Lawrence Jacob will accomplish all of goals
