OGPD is an up-and-coming artist hailing from the Bronx, New York, and with his regionally-influenced sound laced with Southern and Caribbean roots, he’s making waves with his latest mixtape “MPR”, out now on all streaming platforms. Released on August 20th, “MPR” is OGPD’s vibey sequel to his EP “1050” released earlier this year. “It motivates all people to not only dance and feel good, but to go out and get it,” he says about his new work.
Raised by his father, one of the biggest DJs of the early to mid-90s in Uptown New York, OGPD always took a liking toward music, paying special attention to how music is made and the instrumentation that goes into it. Surprisingly, he didn’t make his start in the industry on-camera; instead, he soaked up game from his peers behind-the-scenes. Not long after he moved to Atlanta, OGPD officially kicked off his career as an artist, and started making music of his own. Now, he aims to become world-renowned, and hopes to continue stepping into his role as a self-made entrepreneur by getting involved in everything from film production to real estate to apparel.
“I’m self-made,” OGPD says of his career. “Money, power, and respect are what you need in life.” That’s OGPD’s focus as he paves the way for other aspiring artists and entrepreneurs to come after him, and he’s taking that message to the world stage.
