Earlier today, Drake released his new album titled “Certified Lover Boy.” The album features additional artists such as Masego, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Giveon, JAY-Z, Travis Scott, Future, Young Thug, Yebba, 21 Savage, Project Pat, Tems, Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, and Kid Cudi. We’ve seen Drake collaborate with many of these artists in the past and this album still has a similar sound to his previous songs. However, it seems he has a new motive in his music. With this team of artists, Drake’s Album brings a fresh sound to his music.
“Certified Love Boy” is the album to get listeners into their feelings. In this album, Drake incorporates more R&B sounding beats and couples it with his classic sing-song rap vocals. He also caters to the R&B genre with his features with fellow R&B artists such as Masego, Giveon, Tems, and Yebba.
A personal favorite of mine is Get Along Better for Drake’s vocals. He addresses his past relationship and contemplates his role in it. He then comes to the conclusion that he was more compatible with his ex-girlfriend’s friends. This is definitely the type of song to kickstart the cuffing season fall vibe that is approaching us very soon.
