When did you start doing music?
Music has always been my love, from the first song I remember hearing was Tim Mcgraw. Stories to great music. Finding more music including rap led me to first wanna be a songwriter because I didn’t like my voice. Once I graduated in 2011, making amazing music has been only goal. A few years later. I dropped my first mixtape “Nexus”.
How many singles, EPs, or Albums have you released? Which one is your favorite?
5 solo projects(3 mixtapes & 2 Eps). I won’t be cliche and say all. But I love all my music. From the first projects to now there is growth. If I had to choose though, it would be “Essentials”, re-releasing on all platforms on the anniversary of the original date.
Where do you draw your inspiration from when you’re working on new music?
Mostly personal Experiences and what’s going on in the world. I try to stay focused on staying true to myself when making music.
What do you enjoy most about being a musician?
What do you hate most? I enjoy it all. The ups, the downs. It makes you the artist you are.
What is one song/project that you have released that reminds you of a happy or sad
moment in your life?
My first project. It’s more bittersweet than anything. All that was going on at that time, it was a gamble for me to take music seriously at that time. It reminded me no matter what, never quit.
If you could collab with one person in the industry who would it be and why?
The rapper in me will always say Jay-Z, my R&B collab would have to be his wife, I’d even write a song for/with her. Production?? It’s too many to count, hit boy to Quincy Jones, David Foster to Pharrell Williams. I want to make the best music or be a part of it.
Who is your biggest motivation?
My Kids. Doing anything in my power to make sure there life is 100% better then mine.
Why should people listen to your music?
Because it’s more than music, it’s a movement. It’s a moment in time that people can relate to from now until the end of time.
Word of advice to your younger self?
Never quit no matter who doesn’t like it. Always stay ready to learn.
