KND Twon’s journey in music began at a young age when he learned to play the drums at the age of eight. He subsequently mastered several other instruments, including the saxophone, bass, and piano. During his senior year of high school, KND Twon began to delve into music production, a craft he honed further while earning a degree in Recording Arts with a concentration in media production at the University of Illinois.
Throughout his career, KND Twon has remained committed to using his platform to make a difference in society. He is passionate about self-care and mental health, which he often incorporates into his music and activism. KND Twon firmly believes in the power of music to navigate mental well-being.
KND Twon’s grandfather, a talented musician who played guitar, piano, and saxophone, heavily influenced him during his formative years. He credits his older brother’s gift of a J. Cole album as his musical awakening.
In college, KND Twon met his current business partner, Tarik Hunt, with whom he co-manages AntHill Sounds, an up-and-coming recording studio. Together, they recently released their first LP, Kids Next Door (K.N.D.), which features 26 different artists and has been received positively by fans and critics alike. KND Twon produced all of the beats on the album with the help of Tarik G. Hunt.
Working with over 50 different artists and clients, including NBA champion Iman Shumpert, KND Twon’s dedication to learning and perfecting his craft has remained unchanged since he first began recording.
