Musician KingLee draws inspiration and motivation from artists such as Chris Brown, T-Pain, and Akon to create his own style of music.
KingLee describes his music as, “a combination of my own creativity with many genres.”
The artist began creating music in high school back in 2011.
“My sophomore year, I started making beats for fun until I decided to write music when I was listening to one of my favorite artists, Chris Brown. I then did a remix out of it and that’s when I started writing more songs.”
Creating music while in high school and also holding an internship position had its challenges.
“Balancing your regular life with music was definitely hard because you definitely won’t have time to go to the studio and you won’t have time to really sit and write songs because you then have to wake up for work the next morning. You then come home and you’re tired, so time is definitely an issue,” he said.
Throughout the course of his music career, he has created four singles and one EP.
He said, “My favorite one is, ‘I got a long way’ because it is actually related to how I used to be when I started making music. I was shy, doubting my own talent until I became more confident and actually knowing that I have a long way to go to become what I really want to be.”
When making his music he most enjoys the creativity that he can put into it. He said that there is also something that could be done to make the song better and that a simple change could make the biggest difference in the song.
KingLee is currently in the process of creating music for his fans.
“Right now I’m starting to work on my music video for My EP ‘Afro Love,” and “later this year I’ll start working on my album.
His music can be found on Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube,
