Hunni Ellis has always stayed true to her craft, and now she’s opening up more than ever before with the release of her latest project, Love and Truth. This album represents one of the most vulnerable and authentic moments of her career, offering listeners a deep look into her world as both an artist and a woman.
“Love and Truth is very special to me. This is the most vulnerable I have ever been with my music. Every song is from the heart, and a lot of people, especially women, will be able to relate to it,” Hunni says. The project blends passion, reflection, and emotion, with each track revealing a different side of her journey.
One of the standout songs, “Call Love,” is a sultry and flirtatious track where Hunni serenades her husband, capturing the intimacy of their bond. Another emotional highlight is “For the Boys,” a love letter to her sons that expresses the tenderness and strength of her role as a mother. These tracks, along with the rest of the album, paint a full picture of her personal experiences and heartfelt storytelling.
But Love and Truth is bigger than one story. Hunni created this project for women everywhere who have ever felt torn between their dreams and their responsibilities. “The music on this project isn’t just for me. It’s bigger than me. It’s for every woman who thinks they’re too old to pursue their dreams, or they have to put all their desires to the side to take care of everyone else around them,” she explains.
Her motivation has grown even deeper since becoming a mother to her daughter. “Now that I have my daughter, I have to show her that whatever you want is attainable as long as you put the hard work in, stay disciplined, and stay true to yourself,” Hunni says. That belief in resilience and self-worth runs through every note and lyric of the album.
Alongside the album release, Hunni has dropped a new music video for “Late Night Drives / Love and Truth.” The visual dives into themes of empowerment and self-discovery, mirroring the emotional depth of the project.
