On the grind for global empowerment and equity is none other than, Dr. Shanelle R. Dawson. Dr. Shanelle is redefining the landscape of education, entrepreneurship, and social justice. As the principal owner of the Global Families of Companies, her expertise spans consulting, coaching, authorship, professional speaking, and more. Understanding the critical role of mindfulness, nutrition, and fitness, Dr. Dawson launched Global SAGE Wellness (GSW), a virtual health and wellness enterprise. GSW offers an extensive array of yoga classes and guided meditations. It also provides comprehensive whole food, plant-based (WFPB) nutritional information, guidance, and coaching, along with WFPB recipes. GSW’s mission is to help individuals make informed health decisions while raising awareness about the environmental impact of the Standard American Diet. Dr. Dawson’s entrepreneurial spirit led to the establishment of ACCESS Global Enterprises, an umbrella company for her various ventures. With the collaboration of a partner, she founded ACCESS Dental Laboratories eight years later. This groundbreaking subsidiary of AGE is the first 100% African American-owned, woman-led, full-service dental laboratory in the United States. ACCESS Dental Laboratories specializes in crowns, bridges, partials, dentures, night guards, implants, and veneers, setting a new benchmark in the dental industry.
Driven by a lifelong commitment to social justice, Dr. Dawson created ACCESS Global Group, a coaching and consulting firm that emphasizes cultural competency, social awareness, trauma-informed strategies, and equity in education and employment. Recognizing that equity transcends corporate boundaries, AGG now includes services that assist underserved and underrepresented community members in the business development process. In 2021, Dr. Dawson’s deep-rooted connections to Syracuse and the Town of Clay, New York, prompted her to run for the Onondaga County Legislature, representing District 14. Her unique perspective enabled her to bridge gaps where barriers once stood. Dr. Dawson’s campaign was driven by a commitment to advancing children and family services, healthcare access, educational equity, employment opportunities, and environmental sustainability.
