Brian C is an independent artst whose style has always been heavily influenced by the Hip-Hop culture of the 90’s. It is easily his favorite decade from the music to the clothes and brands being worn. But overtime, he has also grown to find influences in his music. He prides himself in not wanting to be boxed into one specific niche.
In his latest EP “2427”, he takes us on a journey where we get to see through the lense of Brian C and has already received over 20,000 streams. The song “Black Is Gold” is a powerful track that highlights The Black Lives Matter Movement and the daily struggles of being black in America. In the track “Life I Know,” Brian C guides us through the hard times that one may go through with the hopes for better days.
The EP was sparked by 2020 as a year and everything African American’s had experienced in that one year so far. From the death of Kobe Bryant, his favorite athlete of all time, to the cop killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Rayshard Brooks, and countless others. Brian C just wanted to channel all of that energy into something that is meaningful for listeners and relate to and still get a positive message out of after listening.
When asked what are his goals when it comes to his music career, Brian C responded “At this point, fame and fortune is not as much a priority for me as it was when I was younger doing this. My biggest goal with my music, now that I have the understanding that I do now, is to use my platform as a vehicle. Use my platform as a vehicle to not only get my message out, but to also be a voice for those who can’t speak themselves.”
Brian C is an artist that uses music as an escape. It gives him the power of expressing himself like he’s never done before. Music saved his life in many ways which allows him to make music for the people and the culture. Be sure to check out the project “2427” available now on all streaming services!
