Get to know more about Pryde Luciano below:
What inspired your artist name and where did you get the name from?
My artist name was inspired from my entertainment career i had prior to pushing my music career 100%. I was known as FlyGodPryde on Youtube and I took Pryde and incorporated that with Luciano to give it a “Mob Style” ring to it.
How would you describe your sound and style?
If I could describe my sound I’d say I got a sound similar to NBA Youngboy, showing versatility using melodies, and lyrics with pain vibes brought out through my lyrics from me telling my story on how I came up.
When did you start doing music? And when did you start taking it seriously?
I been rapping since I was 9 years old. I started taking it seriously around 14 or 15 years old when i was a freshman in high school. I recorded my first song when I was 13 and engineered it myself.
Why music? Describe your passion.
Honestly, other than going to the NBA, I never saw myself doing anything other than music. It’s something I really enjoy. It’s more on the therapeutic side to me. It gives me a way to speak out and let my pain be felt a different way. It helps me go through day to day life.
Who/what inspires your sound/music?
Coming from where I come [from], you either a drug dealer, you play ball, or you rap and hope you make it out. Looking at my environment and how many people seen die from the streets over hatred and jealousy that’s enough to inspire me to make it out and be the voice of my city.
Who is your motivation and why?
I have a ton of motivation with my family being number one on the list. They did so much for me on my way up to becoming a man. I feel like I owe them a lot. It seems like I could never repay them for all they’ve done, but as long as I make them proud that’s good enough for me. Also before my father passed he was a DJ thats my biggest motivation. I just want to make him proud also because I know he watching over me from above.
What impact are you looking to make with your music? Who do you want to impact?
I’m not to sure on what impact I want to make, but I want to inspire [the] youth and anybody with a dream to chase their dreams no matter how hard or far fetched they may seem.
Any life changing stories/incidents that impacted your music career, your decision to do music, your journey, etc?
One main incident that impacted my career was me going to jail. I feel like that impacted my career because I had an offer from Cash Money Records and I’m not sure what happened with my deal, but I didn’t take the offer and I was facing jail time prior to the meeting and I understand nobody wants to take a risk in signing someone who is a “trouble maker” and could possibly be a wasted investment. Thats why jail impacted my career because I don’t want to miss out on opportunities from big labels with big deals because of my past and my criminal history.
This incident has not kept Pryde Luciano from the grind! He is currently working with other artists as he creates a project that he plans on dropping upon his release from jail. Until then, listeners can hear Pryde Luciano’s most recent single, “New Opp” that was released on all major platforms this past July! Pryde Luciano is also preparing to drop his newest single, “Mood,” this Friday, September 25th. Show him some love on all streaming platforms, Instagram, and Youtube!
