Mental Health Awareness Month Spotlight: Grief Advocate, Kimberli Gross

As Mental Health Awareness Month unfolds, it’s crucial to shine a light on individuals like Kimberli Gross, whose compassion and vision have created a beacon of hope for those navigating the complexities of grief. Kimberli is the driving force behind Celebrate Still, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to guiding individuals through the journey of rediscovering a new normal after experiencing loss. Educationally empowered and deeply committed to her cause, Kimberli’s journey into grief advocacy began with a personal tragedy — the loss of her mother in 2004. This profound experience ignited a passion within her to help others navigate grief in healthy and constructive ways. Kimberli’s goal is not merely to provide assistance but to embody the very sense of community that was absent in her own moment of need. Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management and a Master’s degree in Human Services Counseling specializing in Crisis, Trauma, and Grief, Kimberli brings both expertise and empathy to her work.

Her commitment to normalizing grief and promoting the importance of therapy is palpable, rooted in her own experiences and driven by a desire to make a positive impact. Beyond her professional and philanthropic endeavors, Kimberli is a proud mother of three sons and an Air Force veteran who served during the 9/11 attacks. Her military service further shapes her empathetic approach, providing a unique perspective on resilience and the human spirit. When asked about the inspiration behind her brand, Kimberli’s response is deeply personal: the loss of her mother and the realization of the heavy stigma surrounding therapy. She strives to be the community she needed during her own time of grief — a guiding light for others traversing similar paths. At Celebrate Still, Inc., the mission is clear: to help individuals find a new normal after experiencing loss.

Through normalizing grief, removing the stigma around therapy, and building a supportive community, Kimberli and her team offer solace and support to those in need. For aspiring entrepreneurs, Kimberli offers sage advice: take your time, stay consistent, and don’t be discouraged by algorithms. Her own journey is a testament to the power of perseverance and belief in one’s vision. As Mental Health Awareness Month continues, Kimberli Gross stands as a shining example of resilience, empathy, and hope. Her story is not just one of personal triumph but a beacon of light for those seeking a path to healing and a new normalcy in the face of loss.
