The late queen, Aaliyah, re-released her self-titled album. The album was originally released July 7th, 2001 by Blackground Records and Virgin Records. When it first released, Aaliyah received praiseworthy reviews. It even reached number two on the US Billboard 200.
Aaliyah re-released Friday, September 10th 2021. This re-release allows her fans to listen to more of her discography. Until this recent album release, most of her music was difficult to find on digital streaming platforms. Even though Aaliyah’s music catalogue is easily accessible on these digital platforms, fans still have their reservations about listening to her music since there were discrepancies between her label and her family. Despite the fan’s mixed feelings, the fans took a liking to Aaliyah as the album encompasses a variety of sounds such as soul, pop, and R&B. The record also features some of her classic hits like “Rock the Boat” and “Try Again.”
