HATARAQQ is an upcoming artist who got his name from an 80’s sci-fi movie, “Dune.” It was the first movie he remembered sitting down and watching from beginning to end with his father. Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, HATARAQQ delivers that Mid-West sound where he discusses his lifestyle, personal experiences, and creativity. He is currently working on new music and you can get to know him below!
What is your genre?
SOUNDSPLASH Hip-Hop
How would you describe tout sound to someone who hasn’t heard your music yet?
I would describe my sound as Hip-Hop Overture, boom bap, funk, instrumental vibrations.
What is your creative process when making your music?
I start my creative process with an internal seeking of vibrations, I use my mind’s internal ear/eye and try to articulate the sounds and grooves that come in the form of sounds, cadence, color. I call it Soundsplash.
What do you enjoy the most about being an artist?
Being a musician, I enjoy the process of creating. I like to see something come out of nothing and feel honored to be involved in the process.
What impact would you like to make with your music?
The impact of social media in regard to the music business, in my opinion, has served its purpose, we all now know about people and their talents, and even the shit we don’t want to know about or be constantly force-fed.
If you could collaborate with anyone in the industry, who would it be?
I would love to collaborate with Anita baker, Black Thought, MF DOOM, Sade, Snoh Aalegra, Ani Defranco, Herbie Hancock, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Big K.R.I.T, Robert Glasper, Eric Roberson, David Holsinger, Mike & Keys, Roni Size, and AZ.
