Hi, what are you looking for?

Music

Get To Know 47K.

Sacramento native 47K is an artist who puts on for his city. With his delivery, lyrics, and passion, he is destined to make it in the music industry. The Hip-Hop artist likes to make music based on his everyday life and personal experiences, but also the experiences of the people in my life. His newest project “Everything to Gain Vol. 1” is set to release this summer and you can get to know him below!

What do you enjoy most about being a musician?

I definitely love that I have a space where I can vent my stress, my anxieties, my pain, and sometimes also just be braggadocio and give myself that confidence I need in life. The only downside I would say is how political the music industry can be and how difficult it is to work solely on music because it’s not easy to live off music being your only income.

Aside from music do you have any side hobbies?

Definitely a sports junkie. I’m a huge 49ers and Golden State Warriors fan. When I’m not at work Or working on my music I’m reading articles or watching sports shows for sure.

What is one song/project that you have released that reminds you of a happy or sad moment in your life?

I would say “Lights Out” the latest and the only track I’ve dropped on all platforms. It definitely brings some bittersweet memories. I wrote it about a year and a half after my brother was killed and I was in a space where I was tired of feeling like my life was nothing but turmoil. That moment I came up with that hook and direction for my verse it reassured me that although it hurts like a bitch that I lost my big brother, he’s the fuel I need to make it. I gotta get up off my ass and go get that shit for him.

Who is your biggest motivation?

Definitely, my older brother Alfonso Serrato who passed away. He used to always gas me up and tell me I could spit and I would make it if I stayed outta trouble. He’s what fuels me. If I make it. He’ll live thru my music forever.

What is the best piece of advice you received? From who?

The best advice I ever heard was from an interview with Big Boi from Outkast. He said to “Do it yourself, while also being yourself” this hit home with me very deeply. Cause I’d rather be me and not make it than blow up off of being someone I’m not.

Why should people listen to your music?

I think if people want to hear someone speak their truth and maybe relate. Especially if you’ve dealt with death, gang violence, losing friends and family to a broken justice system then I feel my shit would hit on a personal level. Also if you just love bars and lyrical ability I got that too.
