Courtney Green: Leading with Heart, Grace, and Purpose

Courtney Green’s life reads like a story of purpose in motion. From the hardwood floors of Louisiana State University’s basketball courts to the hands-on work she does in her community today, she’s always shown up with grit, grace, and heart. A former Division I athlete turned entrepreneur, author, mental health advocate, and devoted mom of five, Courtney is the kind of woman who doesn’t just talk about change — she lives it. With a deep commitment to empowering teen girls and young women, her mission is simple but powerful: to remind others that strength and softness can coexist, and healing is part of the journey, not the end of it.

Courtney, what inspired you to write your latest book, Stronger Every Day?

Courtney: Stronger Every Day was born from experience. As a former D1 athlete, wife, mom of five, and mental health advocate, I’ve lived the highs and the silent struggles. I created the guide I wish I had growing up. It’s a self-help guide crafted for teen girls and young women, offering practical tools for building resilience and healthy coping skills — drawn directly from my own journey balancing sports, motherhood, and entrepreneurship.

Who has influenced your approach to life and business the most?

Courtney: My approach is deeply rooted in authenticity and service. Sarah Jakes Roberts is my business role model — without hesitation. She’s the blueprint for turning trauma into transformation. She built an empire on empathy, and I deeply admire how she combines storytelling with impact.

What do you think sets your story apart?

Courtney: My story is raw, honest and relatable. It’s also real and it’s rooted in faith. I’m not perfect — I’m present. From overseas basketball courts to hospital visits, from book launches to bedtime routines, my story reminds women that you can be strong and still need healing.

What are some of your proudest accomplishments?

Courtney: Publishing my book Dance in the Rain and launching transitional homes for single mothers and veterans. Those moments proved that business can be both profitable and purpose-filled.

With May being Mental Health Awareness Month, how do you stay connected to the community and support causes that matter?

Courtney: My commitment to community runs deep. I support organizations that focus on youth development, mental health awareness, and housing stability. Whether I’m leading basketball clinics, hosting mental health summits, or helping with homeless outreach — I believe in being boots on the ground and making a real, tangible difference.
